SWD

SWD, or Shortwave Diathermy, is a therapeutic modality that uses high-frequency electromagnetic waves to generate heat deep within the tissues of the body. This heat helps to increase blood flow, relax muscles, and promote healing. During a SWD treatment, the healthcare professional places an applicator or electrode over the targeted area of the body, which emits the high-frequency waves. The heat produced penetrates the tissues, providing pain relief and reducing inflammation. SWD is commonly used to treat conditions such as arthritis, muscle strains, and joint pain. It is a safe and effective therapy that can be incorporated into a comprehensive rehabilitation or pain management plan.
